ABOUT THE ROACH
The common roach, or rutilus rutilus as it is widely known, is a fresh-water fish of the Cyprinidae family and native to Europe & western Asia. It is a smallish fish, often reaching about 35-50 cm. Its body has a bluish-silvery colour and white at the belly, with red fins. Roach can be seen gathering in large shoals in ponds, lakes and slow-flowing rivers.
