On the Easel
I've started a new collection of large-scale wildlife illustrations (70 x 50cm), one of which includes a kingfisher flying out of the water. Here's me adding the detail in final stages of the painting.
As a keen photographer I use my own photos for reference where possible, or library stock imagery. When planning a drawing, I use several photos to compose the layout and do not simply copy a single image.

- Brushes: Windsor & Newton Cotman and Proarte Prolene
- Paints: Liquitex acrylic and Holbein gouache acrylic
