I'm a UK artist and illustrator based in the Derbyshire Dales, painting a wide range of wildlife & coastal themes.

My background is illustration, where I started out in the mid 1980's working as a scientific illustrator. I have over 40 years of experience working in different areas of the art & design industry, including web design and marketing.  Now semi-retired, I've returned to painting again after a long break, and enjoying the process of creating new realistic artworks infused with rich colour.

Working from my own photos, I plan the concept and composition to convey the visual idea I wish to share. By understanding the form of a subject, and the principles of colour, light and shading, I aim to achieve a high degree of representational likeness.
