Discus Fish are members of the Cichlidae family and are sometimes referred to as ‘King of the Aquarium’ because of their regal colours and majestic beauty. In the wild they are native the Amazon river basin in Brazil. In nature, discus eat plant material and detritus, but also forage along the bottom looking for worms and small crustaceans. They are popular aquarium fish as they are peaceful fish that are rarely aggressive.
