ABOUT THE DOGTOOTH
Dogtooth Tuna is a large pelagic fish, also known as a white tuna, and got its name because of the external resemblance to tuna, although it isn’t one. Instead, it is a bonito. It can reach up to 2.5m in length and weigh up to 130kgs. It is widespread throughout the tropical waters, and hunts small schooling fish and squid. ABOUT THE GREAT WHITE
Great white sharks are the largest predatory fish, and their torpedo-shape with can propel them through the water at up to 35 miles per hour. They are named after their white underside, their top halves can come in a variety greys. They are estimated to reach a length close to 6.1m and a weight of over 2,500 kg. My original painting in acrylics, is available as a fine art print, and shows the shark emerging from the surf in a shallow sea.

ABOUT THE ORCA
Orcas, also known as killer whales, are toothed whales and the largest member of the oceanic dolphin family. It is recognizable by its distinct colouring, being mostly black on top, white on the bottom and white eye patches. They are apex predators with a diverse diet, including bony fish, seals, dolphins, and other whales. They are highly social, with populations forming stable family groups (pods). ABOUT THE SWORDTAIL FISH
Swordtails are one of the best known aquarium fish species, originating from Mexico and Central America, it has has been bred in captivity for many years. They grow to about 13 cm long and are characterized in the male by a long, sword-like extension of the lower tail fin lobe. Swordtails are livebearers, meaning the females give birth to live, free-swimming fry rather than laying eggs.

ABOUT THE MACKEREL
The Atlantic mackerel is found in the temperate waters around Europe and the Atlantic Ocean, where it is extremely common and occurs in huge shoals. They are streamlined, fast-swimming fish that migrate to shallow inshore waters in the summer and feed on small fish, particularly sand eels. Mackerel are an important source of food for marine predators, including dolphins, tuna, whales, seals and sharks.

ABOUT THE BALLAN WRASSE
The ballan wrasse is a species of marine fish found in the eastern Atlantic Ocean, where it inhabits rocky areas. It is a large, heavy bodied fish with a large head, and have incredibly strong teeth which they use to pull molluscs and barnacles off the rocks.  Interestingly, all ballan wrasse start off life as females but the most dominant fish will become males later on in life.
